My adventure started one windy afternoon, I was sitting in my roommates room talking about nothing of importance. When suddenly my bedroom door down the hall slams shut. At the time I thought nothing of this because I don't often lock my door. After a while I when back to my room with its closed door. I reached down and turned the door knob and pushed.
Oddly the door knob turned but the door would still not open. That's when I remembered the the latch on the inside of the door. It must of sprung shut when the door slammed. So here I am a locksmith locked out of her own room.
I would like to say that I used some complex and ingenious way of unlocking my door but sadly I cannot. I have found that sometimes in life the choice you must chose is completely simplistic but yet lacks all sense of dignity. My only option was climbing through the bathroom window that is connected to my master bedroom.
Now your probable thinking "why the hell didn't you think of that first" . Well in my defiance climbing though the bathroom window is not often the first thing to come to mind when your bathroom is on the second story of your house and you do not own a ladder. Luckily for me we also had another bathroom right next to my room with just a few feet separating the two windows.
So here I am armed with my butter knife balancing on my roommates toilet trying to shimmy out her bathroom window on the second floor. One foot goes out the window and then the second, I am now balancing on a one foot wide ledge staring down at the pavement below. With my roommate ready to call the paramedics if i fall. I slowly stand up on the ledge an grab on to the roof. Now its time to span the three feet long gap between the window ledges with only having the roof to hold on to. I finally made it to the ledge of my bathroom i am almost home free all I need to do is pry the screen of with my butter knife and shimmy through the window without falling.
Lucky for me I did not fall off the ledge just my toilet when I tried to climb down from my bathroom window. Finally my bedroom door was unlock. As you can probably guess i removed the latch from my door I do not want to ever have to try that again and hopefully ether will any of you readers out there.
